1. Course Levels
The CA course is divided into three stages:
CA Foundation
- Paper 1: Accounting (100 marks) — Subjective
- Paper 2: Business Laws (100 marks) — Subjective
- Paper 3: Quantitative Aptitude (100 marks) — MCQ
- Paper 4: Business Economics (100 marks) — MCQ

Group 2

- Paper 6: FM & Strategic Management

Group 1
- Paper 1: Financial Reporting
- Paper 2: Advanced Financial Management

- Paper 6: Integrated Business Solutions

2. Course Duration
Foundation
8–12 months (including exams)
Intermediate
8–18 months (depending on completion of modules)
Total Duration
Typically 3–5 years, depending on your pace and exam attempts.
3. Course Eligibility
Foundation
10+2 (High School) pass or equivalent.
Intermediate
Completion of Foundation or direct entry through graduation (if eligible).
Final
Completion of Intermediate level followed by 2 years of articleship program.
Education & Training at a Glance
Foundation Route
- Register with BOS after passing Class X Examination
- Eligible for June/December Exam after 4-month study and Class XII
- Pass Class XII and Foundation Examination
- Register for Intermediate Course
- Appear and pass both groups of Intermediate Examination (after 8 months)
Direct Entry Route
- Commerce Graduate/Post-Graduate (55%)
- Graduate/Post-Graduate Other than Commerce (60%)
- Passed Inter level of ICAI/ICSI/ICMAI
- Undergrad/Postgrad in final year of graduation
- Register for Intermediate Course
Common Journey After Intermediate
- Complete ICITSS before Practical Training (PT)
- Commence 2 years of PT (Articleship)
- Complete and Qualify Self-paced Online Modules
- Complete Advanced ICITSS after PT and before Final Exam
- Register for CA Final
- Appear in Final Exam 6 months after PT completion
- Pass both groups of Final Examination
- Apply for Membership of ICAI
- Qualify as a Chartered Accountant
Note: Candidates may optionally apply for the Business Accounting Associate (BAA) Certificate after PT.
